Devon staff serves up breakfast at Our Place Society ..

On Tuesday, May 14th, several of our staff members signed up to take part in a Devon Properties sponsored breakfast at Our Place Society. Our team had a blast helping out and we have a few photos of all the fun!

Our Place Society is centre that provides many services such as transitional housing, nutritious meals, hygiene care, and a drop in centre for citizens of Greater Victoria. For more information on Our Place Society or to find out how you can volunteer, stop by their website and take a tour!

Dryer Sheets— not just for laundry!
You may have noticed people are inventing many different uses for dryer or “Bounce” sheets other than freshening laundry and banishing static. One great use for cleaning is to run them along your baseboards to achieve a “two for one” result – it cleans and coats the surface to repel dust and pet hair. This quick and easy tip can cut the frequency of this job down significantly. As opposed to once a month, you might find yourself only having to do this every couple of months!

Spring is in the air!!

We love to see tenants taking pride in their homes and decorating their balconies with colorful spring flowers. However, we want to remind tenants to please be cautious of the placement of flower pots and baskets. Please do not place, attach or hang baskets to the balcony railings as this poses a safety hazard for people below. We encourage our tenants to beautify their balconies with flowers that are in proper planters and pots.

In fact, if you keep a bright display of flowers on your balcony or patio – we would love to see it! Send us a photo at kjanes@devonprop.com and we will feature it on our Facebook page!

Welcome to our blog!

The year 2012 brought many changes for Devon Properties. New staff members, new additions to our management portfolio, and visual updates to our website – such as our handy rental listings filtration system to help our prospective clients search for their ideal rental unit.

It’s now 2013 and we continue to move forward – this time into the realm of social media! We’ve launched our Devon Facebook and Google+ pages to allow us to reach out to new prospective clients and communicate with our current ones. We’re also pleased to introduce this blog as a new subsection of our website. Here you’ll find posts on a variety of topics and features from our newsletter such as safety tips, rental-friendly decorating ideas, featured buildings and neighborhoods, manager profiles, seasonal reminders, important notices, and other information relevant to our residents.
