Reporting Standards / Licensing
The company is licensed under the Real Estate Act of British Columbia. All of the company’s senior management and property managers are licensed under the Act.
Bonding & Insurance
The company is bonded and insured by the B.C. Real Estate Errors & Omissions Corporation.
Each property has its own trust bank account.
As a condition of our licensing, all building trust accounts are reviewed annually by an independent firm of Chartered Accountants. An audit report, outlining any exceptions to rules set out by the Superintendent of Real Estate, is forwarded annually to the Real Estate Council of B.C.
Devon’s premises are well secured and monitored for fire and forced entry. Computers are backed up on a daily basis and tape backups stored off-site. The corporate offices are located in a recently seismically upgraded building.
At Devon, we do not have a maintenance division. We utilize independent trades for all repair and maintenance and have no vested interest in any repair related firms. All invoices, unless otherwise disclosed, are passed through to owners at cost.
