Rob Hunter – Founder, Partner

Rob founded Devon Properties Ltd. in 1981. He has been involved in apartment acquisitions, dispositions, financing and syndications of Victoria apartments for the last 30 years. Rob’s knowledge of Victoria’s rental stock, the rental market, operating apartments, investment market and the apartment industry is immense.

 

Rob is the Managing Broker at Devon and has licenses in Real Estate Trading Services, Property Management Services, Strata Management Services, and Mortgage Brokerage.

 

His deep passion for the industry and his open door policy in sharing this knowledge has been one of the keys to the success of Devon.

 

During his career Rob was the chairman of the Rental Housing Council of British Columbia, a director of the Apartment Property Managers Association of Vancouver Island and a past president of BCAOMA (British Columbia Apartment Owners and Managers Association).

 

Rob and his wife Shirley are ever present in the Victoria community and have made significant volunteering efforts to the community at large.  Rob has served the community as past president of the Art Gallery and on the board of the Provincial Capital Commission (Chair of finance). Shirley has served the following agencies. Victoria Crime Stoppers (Chair), Pacifica Housing (Chair), Victoria Hospital Foundation (Chair), Treasure Island Nursery School (Chair),  Friends of the Royal British Columbia Museum (Board Member), Victoria Foundation (Honorary Governor), Medewin Support Group – sheltered housing for the mentally ill (Chair).

 

Rob is proud of Devon’s reputation and the high level of service provided its clients. Rob’s door is always open should you wish to discuss anything about property management, real estate or his other love,  fine automobiles.

Ross Kipp (B. Comm., CA) – Partner

Ross is a Chartered Accountant who has developed and overseen the administrative operations of Devon for the last 28 years. The internal management systems he has employed and the level of excellence he has established have provided our owners with clear, accurate and timely reporting for many years.

 

He has established an immense of level of respect from our owners and through out Victoria’s business community.

 

Ross is past president of the CA Association of Victoria, past president of ROMS BC (Rental Owners and Manager Association of British Columbia), past board member serving as Director of Finance for St. Michaels University School, Glenlyon Norfolk School and United Way of Greater Victoria.  Ross holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC and is licensed as a property manager by the Real Estate Council of BC.

 

Devon’s administrative department is a full service provider with a quality of reporting which has provided great comfort to owners, their respective accountants and all professionals involved with the respective asset.

 

The consistent high quality service provided by Ross has been a cornerstone of Devon’s success.

Dave Craig (B.A.) – Partner

Dave, a life long Victorian, brings to the company an extensive background of real estate development and commercial banking. As Chief Financial Officer with a very active local property development company, he coordinated and managed numerous acquisitions and dispositions, investor relations and complex finance structures in all types of real estate development. Prior to his role as CFO, Dave worked as a Commercial Branch Manager with HSBC of Canada and as an Account Manager with the Business Development Bank of Canada. He has strong business fundamentals and deep business connections in Victoria.

 

Dave is a licensed Realtor, Property Manager and Mortgage Broker. He holds a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Geography from the University of Victoria. Dave is a past Board Member of the Urban Development Institute (UDI) and also serving on the Board of the Rental Owner & Management Society.

 

Dave is focused on the long term strategic growth of the company. While maintaining our focus on excellence of service, Dave will be utilizing proven business practices and innovative technology to secure Devon’s place in the changing world of business.
